It’s time to get things started. We’re the Westsylvania Jazz & Blues Festival, and with your support we’re bringing jazz and blues to downtown Indiana, Pennsylvania on May 24, 2014—Memorial Day Weekend.
Indiana has a strong local music scene, great music education, and a thriving downtown. We’re located in a region full of jazz history, from Earl “Fatha” Hines to Mary Lou Williams, Art Blakey, and many more. The Westsylvania Jazz & Blues Festival will celebrate all this as summer 2014 gets under way.
Westsylvania Jazz & Blues isn’t just a concert, however. The week before the show, we’ll be holding educational outreach programs for students and inviting them to participate in the festival.
Who’s making it happen? Our steering committee for starters. If you’re an Indiana local, check out the list—you probably know a few of us.
They’ve gotten us on our way, but we’re not yet fully funded. Want to help out? Check out our Kickstarter (coming soon!) where you can support the festival while earning rewards ranging from a bumper sticker to a performance by Dad Band at your private event. Or contact us to find out how you can help make the Westsylvania Jazz & Blues Festival a reality.
