Saxonphonist Don Aliquo Jr.'s 2019 live album The Innocence of Spring was nominated as one of National Public Radio's top 10 jazz recordings of 2019. Aliquo is a Duquesne University alumnus with roots in the Pittsburgh area. His father, Don Aliquo Sr, is also a well-respected jazz artist with whom he will perform at DCWJBF. A professor of instrumental performance and jazz studies at Middle Tennessee State University, Aliquo is this year's DCWJBF jazz educator and will also appear with the Forest Hills High School Combo.
