“My story is atypical,” Gabe Stillman, a Williamsport, Pa. native, told Blues Blast Magazine, “I come from a place where classic rock and country music is just about all you hear on the radio.”
Despite not coming “from any of these places where one would find the blues in an organic sorta way,” Stillman does come recommended by Chicago bluesman and DCWJBF 2023 headliner Toronzo Cannon: “Gabe Stillman has the intensity and the chops the blues should have, keep your eye on him!”
With The Gabe Stillman Band, The Berklee College of Music graduate has landed in the final eight of the 35th Annual International Blues Challenge in Memphis, where he also received the esteemed Gibson Guitar Award.
His 2021 release Just Say the Word reached #5 on the Roots Music Radio chart along with three charted singles. The album also debuted at #10 on the Billboard Blues Chart.
A Blues Music Award nominee in the Best New Emerging Artist Album category, The Gabe Stillman Band has supported acts such as George Thorogood, and the Destroyers, and ZZ Top.
