Downtown Indiana Helps Kick Off 2020 DCWJBF

Downtown Indiana (DI) again helps kick off this spring's Delaney Chevrolet Westsylvania Jazz and Blues Festival with a free Friday night concert May 22, 2020 in IRMC Park -- this year with a very special headliner.

Wheatus will make a stop in downtown Indiana during an international tour supporting the special, 20th anniversary edition of their self-titled debut. The 20-song album is scheduled for release this year.

Wheatus is perhaps best known for the single "Teenage Dirtbag," from that album. "Teenage Dirtbag" topped the charts internationally and was certified platinum in two countries. It has appeared on soundtracks including the 2000 Jason Biggs and Mena Suvari romcom, Loser and the HBO miniseries Generation Kill. "Teenage Dirtbag" has been covered by One Direction, Weezer, Tokyo Police Club, 5 Seconds of Summer and others.

This is Wheatus's second time performing in Indiana's main street district. In 2018, Downtown Indiana brought them to Philadelphia Street as part of bill that also included Sophie B. Hawkins and Lucy Kaplansky.

More familiar faces returning for the Westsylvania kickoff are hometown heroes Post Traumatik. 'PT' has rocked all over the region and beyond -- from corner bars to Thunder In The Valley and the Millvale Music Festival. Post Traumatik has also shared stages with Faith No More’s Chuck Mosley, Johnny B. Morbid (the Misfits), Faster Pussycat, LA Guns, Green Jelly, Richie Ramone, and many more.

Post Traumatik has been busy since playing last year's Westsylvania kickoff. They released an album, Anger Management, and contributed singles to Chuck Mosley (Faith No More) tribute album We Still Care A Lot, and the Hell House III:Lake of Fire soundtrack. At "press time," Post Traumatik had received several nominations for Iron City Rocks awards including Album of the Year and Song of the Year.
